PepsiCo’s decision to discontinue this soft drink category has upset energy drink enthusiasts.
PepsiCo just made the unexpected revelation that they will discontinue the entire Mtn Dew Energy line. Less than a year ago, PepsiCo discontinued Sierra Mist, only to replace it with a very identical drink called Starry. Starry is pitched to a younger demographic, but it is essentially the same idea. So, why are they discontinuing what appears to be an extremely popular energy drink?
They appear to be abiding by the premise that reducing their brands helps them to concentrate more on other established companies. It’s worth remembering that PepsiCo owns Rockstar Energy Drink. They highlight that in their news release on the closure of MTN Dew Energy.
There are no obvious explanations for why this move was undertaken. Fans of other PepsCo and Mountain Dew brands are understandably concerned by this revelation. Your other beloved Mtn Dew products, including Kickstart, are likely safe, according to The Street.
Official channels announced earlier this year that the MTN Dew Energy line would be discontinued moving forward. At this time, there is no sign MTN Dew Kickstart is in danger of being discontinued,” the Instagram page shared.
