In the latest update, the Riverside County Coroner’s Bureau determined that the skeletal remains discovered in Joshua Tree National Park belonged to Trammell Evans of Florida. The terrible finding was made on January 25, 2024, sparking an ongoing investigation into Evans’ death.
On the afternoon of January 25th, at 12:08 p.m., deputies from the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station responded to reports of human skeleton remains discovered off a path in Joshua Tree National Park, near Twentynine Palms.
When researchers informed Federal Park Rangers of the discovery, they immediately requested assistance from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office and the Riverside County Coroner’s Bureau.
When the Coroner’s Bureau arrived at the site, they took command of the inquiry to identify the cause of Trammell Evans’ death. The circumstances surrounding the finding of the skeletal remains remain a mystery, with no definitive evidence available at this time.
As of January 31, 2024, the cause of Trammell Evans’ death remained unknown, and the Coroner Bureau’s inquiry is ongoing. Law enforcement authorities are requesting anyone with additional knowledge on the incident to come forward and help with the ongoing investigation.
