After a judicial monitoring committee discovered that he had evaded the law and participated in misconduct, an Illinois judge who caused a stir by overturning a man’s conviction for rape involving a girl who was 16 years old has been dismissed from his position.
Robert Adrian, the judge of Adams County, was dismissed from his position on Friday by the Illinois Courts Commission after the commission upheld a complaint that had been brought against him.
In October 2021, Adrian had reached a verdict that a Michigan man, who was 18 years old at the time, was responsible for sexually abusing a female who was 16 years old during a graduation party in May 2021.
However, in January 2022, he overturned that conviction, stating that the 148 days that the guy had served in jail were sufficient punishment for all of his actions.
