‘I’ll do everything I can to make sure’ to prevent Trump from becoming President again: Bill Maher

Bill Maher says he is dedicated to ensuring that former President Trump does not return to the Oval Office.

“I’ll do everything I can to make sure that doesn’t happen, but none of us have much influence,” the HBO “Real Time” host said about Trump’s rematch with President Biden in an interview with Variety published Wednesday.

“What I have decided to do is not preemptively give up my nervous system to Donald Trump like I did last time, or maybe the last two times,” Maher, a 68-year-old Republican, said.

“If he wins, he wins,” he explained.

“The nation is polarized. “It’s like a prison yard—you’re either on one team or the other,” said Maher, who was promoting his new Club Random Studios podcast network.

“Everybody says they want to be in the middle, but really they just go to their corners.”

The liberal analyst and frequent Trump critic, who has branded the former commander-in-chief “everything wrong with a human being stuffed into one man,” told Variety that he is trying not to worry about the November election results.

“So either Trump wins or he doesn’t,” Maher added.

“And when he becomes president, either he’ll blow up the world or put me in Guantánamo Bay or whatever, but I just cannot worry about it constantly.”

Maher has previously stated that he is “afraid” of Trump “on a very personal level.” Last year, the comedian stated, “I don’t know what he would do in a second term.”
