According to the FBI, a car smashed into the front gate of the organization’s headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, on Monday.
As per Fox News, the vehicle rammed into the staff door shortly after noon. The bureau said that a guy attempted to follow an authorized car through the gate but was stopped.
The facility’s barricades were used to halt the car. The suspect stepped out of the vehicle and attempted to enter the institution.
The agents in the car he attempted to pursue got out, as did two other FBI agents who were going for lunch, and the suspect was captured.
The agents contacted DeKalb County Police, who apprehended the driver. He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital for a mental health evaluation as well as a check for potential injuries.
Law enforcement is investigating the identify of the driver as well as the likely motive.
The automobile was towed just before 4 p.m. local time, according to FOX 5 Atlanta.
