Southern California is just recovering from another wet weekend, but more rain is already on the way.
The region should get some sunlight and milder weather on Tuesday and Wednesday, but clouds are expected to return Thursday morning.
“By Thursday evening, rain is back in the forecast, and it appears that Friday will be very active with rain and mountain snow,” KTLA Meteorologist Henry DiCarlo said.
The National Weather Service predicts thunderstorm activity on Friday.
The next storm is not likely to be as severe as the one that dumped between one and three inches of rain to portions of Southern California over the Easter holiday weekend.
The Weather Service stated that downtown Los Angeles received 2.10 inches during the last five days. Claremont had 1.64 inches of rain, while Chatsworth got 1.96 inches. The Weather Service reported that more than 4 inches fell at South Gate during the same time period.
The incoming system will not be as severe, but the Weather Service predicts half an inch to an inch in most locations, which “will affect your Friday travel,” Henry said.
Temperatures are predicted to drop dramatically on Thursday as a storm approaches.
The Weather Service predicts very low snow levels Friday night and Saturday morning, which may cause travel concerns along the 5 Freeway through Grapevine.
A second storm system is also expected to hit the region late Sunday into Monday next week.
“The weekend in-between…””I’m hoping to keep it generally sunny,” Henry stated.
