Study to investigate potential climate change impact on areas bordering Great Lakes

The federal government and many states are collaborating to examine how climate change may affect places along the Great Lakes.

The Great Lakes Coastal Resiliency Study will examine a variety of climatic scenarios, including how future storms, flooding, exceptionally low or high water levels, and erosion may affect shoreline areas.

The study will also look into how federal and local governments, as well as other groups, might work together to mitigate the detrimental effects of climate change.

The project is supported by the United States Army Corps of Engineers, as well as Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, and other Great Lakes states.

Online public meetings will be place in the near future.
