St. Cloud woman murdered infant, dumped body in a dumpster, sentenced

In 2021, a mother from St. Cloud was sentenced to more than 21 years in prison for stabbing her 3-month-old kid and discarding the body in a dumpster.

Fardoussa Omar Abdillahi, 29, pleaded guilty to second-degree deliberate murder in August of 2023.

According to court documents, Abdillahi called her mother in the early hours of November 28, 2021, to inform her that she had killed her kid. St. Cloud police rushed to an apartment complex in the 2000 block of Maine Prairie Road to check on Abdillahi and her toddler.

When authorities arrived, a guy who had entered the residence informed them that Abdillahi had claimed to have killed her child and disposed of the body in a dumpster. Officers then searched the dumpster and discovered the child’s body inside a rubbish bag. They also found knives and blankets in the dumpster, according to the lawsuit.

According to the allegations, Abdillahi acknowledged stabbing the infant, claiming she had been dealing with mental and physical challenges since the child’s birth.

Abdillahi was sentenced to 261 months and granted credit for time served, which was about two years. She will complete her term at the Minnesota Correctional Facility in Shakopee.
