Violent Teen Mob Assault at Traffic Stop Leaves Man With Broken Leg in Los Angeles

Los Angeles, CA (DMN) – A man is recuperating after a violent assault and robbery that occurred earlier this month in downtown Los Angeles, carried out by a group of young individuals on bicycles.

On Aug. 2, Shailoobek Bazarbai Uulu was unfortunately assaulted while waiting at a red light at the intersection of Olympic Boulevard and Hope Street, as reported by the victim.

Uulu recounted an incident where a group of teenagers on bicycles unexpectedly crossed his path. When the traffic light changed to green, he made an attempt to overtake them.

“When I was passing, one of them threw a bottle of water in my car,” he explained. “So, I don’t know what happened.”

As he parked his car and stepped out, he described how a large group of teenagers swiftly closed in on him, escalating the situation into violence.

A witness happened to capture footage of the incident, where a mob assaulted Uulu, stole his belongings, including his backpack and wallet, from the vehicle, and caused damage to the windows, hood, and trunk of his car.

“This is what L.A. has come to,” the man filming the incident can be heard saying. “Dog, I’m not even playing. I literally just parked. These kids are wild, not older than 20.”

In the video, Uulu appears without shoes, hobbling as he is forcefully struck and punched in the back of the head by a group of teenagers.

He suffered a fractured leg and multiple severe injuries from being repeatedly kicked and punched while on the ground. According to him, his leg injury will necessitate surgery.

“Suddenly, someone pulled me out and she literally saved my life,” he told KTLA’s Carlos Saucedo. “It was a young lady, take me aside and hug me.”

Several adults, including the person recording the incident, can be seen in the video trying to intervene and persuade the teenagers to leave the area where traffic was congested due to the aggressive fight.

Uulu mentioned his intention to relocate, which is why a significant portion of his possessions were stored in his vehicle. Unfortunately, a considerable amount of these items, such as important documents, cash, and credit cards, have been stolen.

“It’s a been a week and no one has been arrested,” he said. “They stole my bank cards, and they even tried to use it a few days later.”

Furthermore, his vehicle suffered significant damage, with Uulu stating that the repairs would cost around $20,000 as reported by KTLA.
