Driver and Two Passengers Charged After 15-Mile Police Chase in Milwaukee

Three men from Milwaukee face criminal charges following a police chase on Monday night.

Authorities reported that 20-year-old Kelly Lipsey was driving the vehicle. Two individuals, 22-year-old Nasir Bellamy and 21-year-old Chrishaun Morris, face allegations related to drug and firearm offenses.

Police were patrolling near Sherman and Hampton on the night of October 7, as stated in a criminal complaint. A black Infiniti without a license plate was seen, and when officers attempted to stop it at Sherman and Eggert, the driver fled the scene.

Authorities reported that the chase spanned about 15 miles, reaching speeds of up to 80 mph, primarily through neighborhoods. The vehicle disregarded multiple stop signs and traffic signals during its journey.

The pursuit was brought to a halt using stop sticks, according to the complaint. An Infiniti lost control, veered into a dead end, and finally entered a driveway close to 55th and Casper, just south of Green Tree Road. An officer observed the driver, later recognized as Lipsey, toss an object through the car’s open window. A handgun was found.

Prosecutors reported that Bellamy occupied the front passenger seat, and a firearm was discovered in his pants, which had not been seen prior to his removal from the vehicle. Morris, sitting in the backseat, was found with a gun tucked in his waistband. Both individuals did not possess a valid concealed carry permit, according to the complaint.

The report indicates that the Infiniti was stolen in Chicago on September 25. Authorities found suspected THC in the vehicle, valued at over $2,000. Two digital scales and money were also found scattered around.

Prosecutors noted that the car attempting to escape reduced its speed during the pursuit, allowing a passenger to exit from the back seat. A person has been detained but has not been charged in connection with the case.

Kelly Lipsey was in court on Saturday, where his bond was established at $15,000. Court records indicate that he faces charges including second-degree recklessly endangering safety, fleeing or eluding police as a vehicle operator, operating a vehicle without the owner’s consent, and possession with intent to deliver THC.

Nasir Bellamy faces charges for possessing THC with the intent to distribute, along with a misdemeanor for carrying a concealed weapon. On Saturday, his cash bond was established at $500.

Chrishaun Morris is currently in jail with a bond set at $500, according to court records, facing charges for possession with intent to deliver THC and a misdemeanor for carrying a concealed weapon. He appeared in court for the first time on Friday.
