Two hurt in Albany fire at vacant building

An Albany fire resulted in minor injuries to two individuals, including a firefighter.

Just after 3:30 p.m., firefighters arrived at 26 Bassett St. to find an empty structure. Albany Fire Chief Joseph Gregory said the fire started in the basement and had moved to the first story.

Gregory said that the fire was contained in less than 20 minutes.

After receiving treatment, the firefighter was discharged from a nearby hospital. At the site, the citizen received medical attention.

The cause is being looked into.
