The public is being alerted by Watervliet Police about the possibility of seeing two bears.
During a training exercise to test their thermal imaging skills, the police department’s drone saw the activity in a wooded area close to St. Peters Armenian Church.
To lessen the likelihood of drawing bears, residents are advised to adopt preventative measures. These consist of:
avoiding leaving food outside, removing bird feeders because bears are attracted to seeds, and using bear-proof trash cans or keeping rubbish cans indoors until pickup.
