Albany woman admits to marijuana trafficking

A lady from Albany entered a guilty plea to trafficking marijuana.

In U.S. District Court on Thursday, 30-year-old Toqwanda Ketchmore acknowledged that she was a part of a marijuana and THC operation that grew marijuana in Fresno, California, and distributed it to different parts of the nation, including the Capital Region.

Quannie, whose real name is Ketchmore, told authorities that she was receiving marijuana parcels at her Troy residence at the time. The U.S. Attorney’s Office claims that between November 2020 and May 2022, she received 44 parcels totaling approximately 200 kg of marijuana.

In order to fund those efforts, Ketchmore also created an Instagram account and marketed marijuana under the Nutty Packs brand. Prosecutors said that among them were videos of marijuana plants, buds that had been harvested, and marijuana packaging.

When she is sentenced later, she could receive a maximum of 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $1 million.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office estimates that the trafficking network consists of around 20 individuals. Another sixteen defendants have entered guilty pleas.
