Thedailymiaminews– A mother from Florida has been charged with enlisting her teenage son to assist her in robbing a guy she was having an affair with.
After being taken into custody on Tuesday, Linda Maria Palacio, 39, was accused of grand theft and felony burglary. She is also charged with misdemeanor offenses such as resisting arrest and contributing to a minor’s delinquency. Palacio allegedly hired her teenage son to help her break into her lover’s apartment and steal a jar that contained $1,300 in cash and a $200 box of cigarettes, according to an arrest warrant that WPLG, a local ABC station, was able to get.
The Little Havana neighborhood of Miami is where the suspected crime occurred on November 13, according to Miami police. Palacio allegedly forced the apartment door open with her son, who was apparently between the ages of 13 and 15. The young accomplice, whose face was hidden by a towel, was captured on a Ring camera, according to the warrant, breaking the door open and letting his mother in.
The video captured her pointing out the location of the cash jar to her kid before Palacio, who was also wearing a mask, reportedly covered it up.
It was stated that the victim, who remained anonymous, had an intermittent sexual contact with Palacio for around ten years. He was the one who accused Palacio, according to the arrest warrant.
On January 7, police detained and questioned the mother and boy. The son gave a statement, but as he is a child, it was not made public. In addition, he was not listed with Palacio as a codefendant.
The Ring video allegedly caused Palacio to become irascible and raise her voice during questioning.
The Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami-Dade County is where Palacio is being detained. Regarding the burglary case, her bond has not yet been set. On Friday, a hearing about her misdemeanor charges is scheduled.
