It is possible that there could be some heavy rain between Wednesday and Thursday, and there will be one more day this week that is cold before temperatures rise to the highs that they reached the previous week.
According to the National Weather Service, overnight low temperatures on Monday are forecast to be in the teens rather than single digits. Warm air advection is predicted to keep conditions slightly warmer than they were on Sunday night.
On Tuesday, it is anticipated that daytime highs will increase by ten to fifteen degrees in comparison to Monday’s levels. Consequently, temperatures should be in the upper 30s and 40s as a result of this. The departure of a cold front from the region has resulted in an increase in wind speeds, which range from 20 to 25 miles per hour, with gusts exceeding 30 miles per hour.
According to a post made by the weather service on X, the most of the high temperatures should be below 50 degrees, with Boston at 48 degrees, Worcester at 47 degrees, and Springfield at 49 degrees.
On the other hand, meteorologists anticipate that temperatures will continue to increase on Wednesday as a storm that originates in the Midwest moves closer to the region and continues to bring heavy rain. After raining in the west by late morning, the rain is forecast to move east by afternoon. The total amount of rainfall is anticipated to be slightly more than an inch.
Despite the fact that forecasters have stated that the likelihood of flooding is minimal, they have stated that they would continue to monitor the circumstances before the storm arrives. In the late evening and early morning hours of Thursday, winds might reach speeds of up to 40 miles per hour, and another round of gusts is anticipated between Thursday and Friday. As a result of this round of severe winds, which have gusts ranging from 40 to 51 miles per hour, an advisory may be necessary.
High temperatures could reach sixty degrees during this time period; however, forecasters have stated that they do not anticipate temperatures between sixty-five and seventy degrees to shatter records by Thursday afternoon.
In Worcester, the high temperature may reach 54 degrees on Wednesday and 56 degrees on Thursday; in Boston, the high temperature could reach 57 degrees on Wednesday and 58 degrees on Thursday; in Gloucester, the high temperature might reach 52 degrees on both days; and in the Islands, temperatures are anticipated to range between 48 and 49 degrees each day.
Meteorologists projected that the rain would stop by early Thursday morning as dry air would be advected into the system. They also predicted that it would be a pleasant afternoon with breaks in the clouds and mild temperatures before a strong cold front would arrive. There is a risk of heavier wind gusts that could cause damage on Friday, which is a cooler day. It is probable that the forthcoming weekend may have conditions that are more peaceful.
