Indiana Parents Arrested after They Beat Their Kids Up after Heated Argument at Paoli Residence

A couple in southern Indiana was taken into custody on Monday for domestic violence related to their children.

On November 1, Indiana State Police launched a criminal investigation following a report of child battery received from the Orange County Department of Child Services.

A report claimed that Herbert Halbert, 57, and Theresa Halbert, 52, from Paoli, physically assaulted their children.

The Orange County Prosecutor’s Office has issued an arrest warrant on Monday following the investigation review.

On that day, ISP troopers took them into custody at their residence without any issues and brought them to the Orange County Jail, where they are currently detained.

Herbert Halbert faces two charges of domestic battery involving bodily harm to a minor under 14 years old. He faced three charges related to distributing material that could be harmful to young people.

Theresa Halbert faces two charges of domestic battery occurring in the presence of a child under 16.

Authorities have issued a search warrant for items located within the residence. The inquiry remains active.
