Alabama Power Co. executives announced today strategies to assist customers with their rising rates.
Officials stated in a press statement that the recent cold wave has resulted in increased electricity demand, causing many customers’ bills to rise.
According to the announcement, support programs such as Project SHARE, LIHEAP, and the ABC Trust Fund are available.
“We are experiencing an unusually high volume of calls to our customer service center,” stated a spokesperson. “We appreciate their patience and understanding as we work to address each call.”
Officials said they wanted to reassure customers that, in collaboration with the Alabama Public Service Commission, AP will not disconnect customers for non-payment until March 15.
