Vice President Harris accepts she is ‘scared as heck’ about a 2024 Trump win

On Wednesday, Vice President Harris confessed that she was “scared as heck” about Donald Trump winning in 2024, saying, “We should all be scared.”

Joy Behar, co-host of “The View,” questioned Harris about recent fears aired by former President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama about Trump’s potential victory. “Are you scared?” Behar asked. “What could happen if Trump ever became, God forbid, president again?”

“I am scared as hell,” she replied. “An old saying states that there are only two ways to run for office: without an opponent or terrified. So, on all of those grounds, we should all be concerned, but as we all know, and this is a table of very powerful women, we don’t run away from something when we’re afraid. We fight back against it.

The co-hosts and audience welcomed her statement.

“Right? Many of us know that when we are concerned about the future of our children, we stay in bed with the covers pulled over our heads. “No,” she replied.

Harris stated that she and President Biden needed to earn re-election.

“We have to earn the re-elect, and we have to communicate what we have achieved,” she was quoted as saying. “And that will be one of our biggest challenges. We’ve done a lot of fantastic work; we need to let people know who brought it to them.

Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin questioned Harris about Biden’s low approval ratings and why Trump, who is facing 91 felony counts across four indictments, is gaining ground in the polls.

“We are all beginning to narrow in on what this election will mean, and, really, in the midst of so many enormous challenges confronting our globe that, you know, are not binary, it’s not just one side or the other, on this one, there is a split screen you can pull up and see. And it will be a decision between respecting our democracy, competence, and chaos,” she stated.

According to an ABC News poll, President Biden’s approval rating has dropped to the lowest level for a US president in 15 years.

Biden’s approval rating is merely 31%, according to a national survey conducted for ABC by Langer Research Associates, with fieldwork conducted by Ipsos Public Affairs using their online, probability-based KnowledgePanel. The poll indicated that 58% of respondents disapprove of Biden’s performance as president. According to ABC News, his approval rating is lower than former President Trump’s lowest throughout his presidency, which was 36%.

Harris spoke with ABC News ahead of the Iowa caucuses on Monday, expressing confidence in their ability to win.

“Well, let me tell you something. Regardless of whatever the Republican nominee is, we are winning. “We are winning,” Harris told the media outlet.

“I don’t know, but look, if it is Donald Trump, we beat him before and we’ll beat him again,” Harris said.
