Michigan family’s Amish horse and wagon stolen outside Walmart, woman arrested

A Michigan family’s Amish horse and buggy were taken from a Walmart parking lot over the weekend, according to authorities.

The victims left the retail business at 5:30 p.m. The Sturgis Department of Public Safety reported that they discovered their horse and buggy were missing on Saturday.

A truck driver who was parked in the parking lot informed authorities that he had seen a lady steal the buggy. He gave the cops a description of her.

Police discovered they had made touch with the woman earlier in the day at Walmart. Police claimed an officer discovered the buggy and horse several hours later.

A 31-year-old woman was detained after being discovered in a nearby motel. She was booked into the St. Joseph County Jail on allegations of larceny and cattle theft.

The horse remained unhurt, and the buggy was restored to the family.

Authorities have not revealed the motive for the theft.
