Jayson, Lauren Boebert’s ex-husband, speaks up after charges

Colorado Representative Lauren Boebert’s ex-husband has broken his social media silence after being charged in connection with two domestic disputes.

Jayson Boebert was charged following an incident with the Republican congresswoman at a restaurant in Silt, Colorado, on January 6, as well as a violent altercation with their 18-year-old son a few days later.

According to an arrest affidavit, after the argument at the Miner’s Claim restaurant, he became uncooperative with officers and had to be forcibly removed from the establishment. He faced charges of disorderly conduct, third-degree criminal trespass, and obstructing a peace officer.

In the other incident, on January 9, Jayson Boebert grabbed a rifle after the youngster phoned the police, according to a separate arrest warrant. As a result, he was charged with third-degree assault, banned use of a weapon, and harassment.

Lauren Boebert wasn’t present throughout the fight. Jayson Boebert was alleged to have phoned police to the restaurant in Silt following the argument with his ex-wife, claiming he was a “victim of domestic violence.” She denied that she punched him.

Jayson Boebert later told The Denver Post that he didn’t want to file charges against his ex-wife. He also told another site that when he told his ex-wife that he wanted to get back together, things “escalated,” and that he “should have handled it more responsibly.”

He had already spoken out on social media, including a lengthy statement on Facebook in September in which he stated that he accepted “full responsibility” for his actions that led to the couple’s marriage ending.

However, he has kept quiet since being charged in connection with the two incidents. On Saturday, he changed his Facebook profile picture to one of him cradling his young grandchild with one hand.

He also answered a question about if his arm was “healing up.” “Yes, finally,” he concluded. It is unclear what the query concerning his arm refers to.

Lauren Boebert previously stated that the encounter with her ex-husband was one of the reasons she chose Colorado’s 4th Congressional District over the more competitive 3rd District, avoiding a rematch with Democrat Adam Frisch, who nearly defeated her in 2022.

“This is a sad situation for all that keeps escalating and another reason I’m moving,” she told Newsweek about the altercation at Miner’s Claim restaurant. She filed for divorce from Jayson Boebert in May 2023, which was finalized in October.

In September, she and a date were thrown out of a Beetlejuice performance after guests reported they were vaping, singing, using phones, and causing a nuisance. Boebert originally denied wrongdoing, but then apologized after security footage appeared to show her vaping and her date fondling each other.
