The Popular Poke Destination, Pacific Counter, Adds Its Fifth Location to Downtown Tampa

A new fast-casual restaurant in downtown Tampa softly debuted last week, providing yet another lunch alternative for the area’s large number of business casual wearers.

Pacific Counter’s newest location is at 115 W Tyler St. in downtown Tampa, near the Straz Center for Performing Arts and the Riverwalk. The locally owned quick casual eatery secretly opened on Tuesday, March 5.

Pacific Counter’s Best of the Bay-winning menu offers quick and healthy meals that are a “mainland mix of coastal classics,” with items like build-your-own poke bowls, loaded hot dogs, Spam musubi, and sushi burritos that appeal to a range of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free diets.

Its famed Dole whip soft serve (free with a poke purchase on Wednesdays) and a choice of boba teas are also available at every Pacific Counter location.

Tanner Loebel, Eric Bialik, and Chitt Noythanongsay opened the first Pacific Counter on downtown St. Petersburg’s 600 block in 2018 and have progressively grown its reach around Tampa Bay.

In addition to Tampa’s newly launched Pacific Counter, the locally owned company has outlets in downtown St. Petersburg, Lakewood Ranch, South Tampa, Sarasota, and even a scaled-down operation inside Tropicana Field.
