Angie Harmon alleges Instacart delivery driver shot and killed her dog

Angie Harmon accused an Instacart delivery driver of shooting and murdering her family’s dog in a social media post published on Monday.

The tragic shooting of Harmon’s dog, Oliver, occurred over Easter weekend, just after a man brought an order to the “Rizzoli & Isles” star’s house.

“He got out of his car, delivered the food, and then shot our dog,” Harmon said on Instagram. “Our ring camera was charging in the house, which he saw & then knew he wasn’t being recorded.”

According to the actress, the delivery driver claimed “self-defense” and was released by authorities.

“He did not have a scratch or bite on him nor were his pants torn,” she said.

“He was shopping under a woman’s identity named Merle… the pic is on my story,” she went on to say. Harmon tweeted a screenshot of the delivery confirmation, which included a photograph of a woman.

“He shot our dog while my daughters and I were at home and just kept saying, ‘Yeah, I shot your dog.'” “Yes, I did,” she explained. “We are completely traumatized & beyond devastated at the loss of our beloved boy & family member.”

A spokeswoman for Instacart informed Fox News Digital that the company has suspended the delivery driver profile and is working with authorities to investigate.

“We were deeply saddened and disturbed to hear about this incident,” Instacart stated in a statement. “We have no tolerance for violence of any type, so the shopper’s account was immediately suspended from our platform. We have been in direct communication with the customer and are working with law police on the inquiry.”

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department conducted an investigation into the March 30 incident, but no charges were filed, according to a spokesperson.

“Upon arrival, officers located and spoke with all involved parties,” according to the spokeswoman. “The investigation found that a delivery driver had been at the home to deliver consumable products. The driver informed investigators that a dog attacked him while he was at the house, and he defended himself by firing a single round that struck and killed the dog. Another dog was there at the home but did not attack.

CMPD Animal Care and Control also arrived to the location.

Harmon’s celebrity buddies expressed their support in the comments section.

“This is UNBELIEVABLE!” Paulina Porizkova wrote. “I don’t even know how to react to this.”

“Oh my god, I’m horrified beyond disbelief….” Allison Janney added. “I can’t even imagine. Stunned.”

Harmon’s followers pushed her to “make a stand,” with one user writing: “Use your networking and media to take this guy down and file a lawsuit [sic] against the police department for not doing anything. If he is so quick to pull out a pistol, it is only a matter of time until he does it again or to another person.”
