Missing seven-year-old girl from Georgia found safe in Puerto Rico after search

A 7-year-old Georgia child who was reported missing on March 29 and brought to Puerto Rico was recovered safe on Saturday, according to the FBI Atlanta.

Stella Brannen Salter was apprehended at midday Saturday at a retail outlet in Puerto Rico by the FBI Atlanta, the Lyons Police Department, and Puerto Rican officials. She was accompanying her non-custodial mother, Wendy Salter. Wendy Salter has been charged with interstate interference in child custody and will be extradited to Georgia.

Stella Brannen Salter had last been seen near Metter, which is around 65 miles from Savannah. Authorities assumed that her mother had taken her to Puerto Rico.
