Texas teacher, son charged with getting disturbed students for prostitution

A high school cosmetology teacher in Klein, Texas, and her son were arrested for allegedly recruiting runaway pupils to work as prostitutes.

According to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, 42-year-old Kedria Grisby and her 22-year-old son, Roger Magee, have been charged with three counts of juvenile sex trafficking and three counts of forced prostitution.

Grisby, a Klein ISD high school teacher, is suspected of assisting Magee by recruiting kids from the school where she worked.

Court filings indicate that as part of the recruitment attempts, Grisby provided the students a hotel room to stay in.

Evidence produced in court reportedly included text communications between the female complainant and Magee about a Zelle payment for prostitute services.

Authorities claim Grisby paid for the hotel room where the alleged event occurred.

According to the sheriff’s office, the victims, aged 15, 16, and 17, were all runaways and students at the school where Grisby worked as a teacher.

Several other teenagers have come forward during the investigation, accusing Grisby of attempting to recruit them while they were at school.

The school district sent a message, which FOX 26 in Houston acquired, informing families of Klein Cain High School students of the situation.

“We are writing to inform you of a situation the Harris County Sheriff’s Office just notified us of, which we have immediately addressed,” the letter said. “Law enforcement informed us that Kedria Grigsby, a cosmetology teacher, was arrested on felony counts of sex trafficking and forced prostitution. As soon as we learned of this information, the district took swift action, detained Ms. Grigsby, and placed her on administrative leave.

The district went on to add that it had no intention of allowing Grisby to return to the high school or district.

“Let us be clear: any behavior harming children is deplorable, and we will always fully cooperate with our many law enforcement partners to ensure anyone engaging in such acts is brought to justice,” the letter went on to say. “We recognize that the news is upsetting. Rest assured, we are committed to handling this matter in a transparent manner. Our top priority is the safety of our pupils.

Magee was caught in November 2022 and is still in jail. Grisby was jailed on a $750,000 bond, and as part of her release conditions, she is prohibited from contacting any witnesses or engaging in unsupervised relations with minors.
