The US destroyed over 80 one-way attack drones and at least six ballistic missiles with the support of US European Command warships, blocking Iranian and Yemeni attempts to harm Israel, according to the US Central Command early Monday.
“On April 13 and the morning of April 14, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces, supported by U.S. European Command destroyers, successfully engaged and destroyed more than 80 one-way attack uncrewed aerial vehicles (OWA UAV) and at least six ballistic missiles intended to strike Israel from Iran and Yemen,” CENTCOM said in a press release.
CENTCOM stated that this includes a ballistic missile on its launcher vehicle and seven UAVs that were destroyed on the ground in Yemeni areas held by Iranian-backed Houthis prior to their launch.
It also stated that the US is ready to assist Israel in its defense against Iran’s “dangerous actions.”
“Iran’s ongoing, unprecedented, hostile, and dangerous behavior jeopardizes regional stability and the safety of US and partner soldiers.
“CENTCOM remains prepared to support Israel’s defense against Iran’s reckless acts. “We will continue to collaborate with all of our regional partners to strengthen regional security,” it ended.
