FOX 29 obtained surveillance video of the event, which showed the student’s head bleeding. Following the alleged assault, she was brought to the hospital with significant injuries.

Pennbrook Middle School mom Sarah Batory told FOX 29 that her kid observed the alleged attack and texted her about it.

“‘Mom, I’m scared,'” she responded to his SMS. “I can’t even tell you what it’s like to get a text message like that when your kid’s at school.”

She continued, “He’s been a wreck ever since. I just believe that there had to be some failures along the line for this to occur.”

Another mother stated that she had previously reported the student, who may face charges for the event, to school counselors because the 13-year-old had threatened her daughter.

“If it were taken seriously, by multiple complaints, that little girl would’ve been in school today.” She also stated that her daughter is “traumatized.”

On Wednesday night, school administrators sent a statement to parents informing them that resources would be made available to pupils who witnessed the assault and that the principal planned to meet with the students on Thursday to discuss the situation.
