‘They want him killed’: Alan Dershowitz warns that Trump could face danger of being murdered in prison

Alan Dershowitz, a law professor, warned that if Donald Trump’s Secret Service protections were removed, he would be assassinated in prison.

Dershowitz made the remarks to Newsmax after Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS) presented legislation that would strip the former president’s Secret Service benefits if he is convicted of a felony.

“So he wouldn’t have Secret Service if he was in prison,” a Newsmax presenter said Dershowitz.

“Well, that is ridiculous,” the legal professor responded. “That suggests they want him killed because he is clearly a target. We live in an age when everyone is at risk.”

“Look, Bobby Kennedy ought to be getting Secret Service protection, but certainly Donald Trump needs to get a Secret Service protection,” he went on to say.

In the end, Dershowitz predicted that Trump would never go to jail.

“The judge is going to bluff and fine and threaten, but he’s not going to throw Donald Trump in jail,” he went on to say. “That would be a guaranteed victory.”

“It would even get people like me, perhaps, to vote for him if he was thrown in jail on an unconstitutional charge,” Dershowitz said in a statement. “So I don’t think it’s going to happen.”
