Florida Family Devastated after Teen Son Shot to Death by His Girlfriend while Posing for Photos

A teenager has been taken into custody in connection with the tragic incident where a teen boy lost his life due to a gunshot wound.

According to authorities, the incident occurred while they were engaged in playing with a firearm and posing for photos inside a residence.

Three individuals, including David Anthony Vargas Acker, 16, along with his girlfriend and another friend, were present inside a residence on Easton Street’s 1100 block when the shooting incident occurred.

Deputies reported that Acker had brought a gun to the home, and the three individuals were playfully pointing it at each other and posing for pictures. During their play, Acker’s girlfriend aimed the gun at him. She pulled the trigger and fatally shot Acker.

Acker’s girlfriend has been charged with aggravated manslaughter of a child and has been transported to the Orange County Juvenile Assessment Center.

FOX-35 interviewed Acker’s family following his passing, during which they expressed their desire for justice in their son’s tragic demise. He was part of a large family and had ambitions to finish high school early and join his father as a contractor.
