Mother Reports Bruising; Spotsylvania Assistant Principal Charged with Assaulting 5-Year-Old

Authorities in Spotsylvania County, Virginia, have detained an elementary school administrator on suspicion of abusing a pupil who is five years old.

Spotswood Elementary School Assistant Principal Misty Kelley, 52, was charged with assault and battery in an incident that occurred on August 28, according to the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office’s social media post.

After receiving a complaint that Kelley had allegedly abused a 5-year-old kid on August 28, the sheriff’s office initially learned about an incident involving a staff member at the primary school.

The student’s mother alleged that her son displayed symptoms of rib and back bruises upon his return from school, according to authorities.

When asked about her injuries, the kid allegedly told the mother that an adult at school had grabbed her because she was too scared to walk.

The sheriff’s office announced that Kelley was identified as the adult who allegedly grabbed and hurt the youngster after an investigation.

On August 28, after the sheriff’s office had notified the central administration office of Spotsylvania County Public Schools on the matter, Kelley was placed on administrative leave on the same day.
