Driver in left Lane with right turn signal activated charged with DWI in Morris County

MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A driver in the left lane with their right turn signal activated was accused of DWI in Morris County on Thursday night, according to police

On Oct. 31, at 8:16 p.m., an officer was on routine patrol when he observed a Tesla pickup stopped at the intersection of Route 46 and Naughright Road, beyond the stop line and into the intersection, police said.

The Tesla was in the left lane of travel with its right turn signal activated. The officer initiated a motor vehicle stop near Motion Kia, police said.

Upon contacting the driver, identified as Todd Morici, 29, of Hackettstown, the officer allegedly detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage and noted that Morici appeared to be impaired. He was asked to exit his vehicle for field sobriety testing and was subsequently arrested, police said.

Morici was transported to police headquarters, where he refused to submit to chemical breath testing. He was charged with DWI, reckless driving, failure to submit to breath testing, and failure to stop or yield. He was released to a sober driver pending a court appearance, police said.
