Bethlehem Police arrest pair on drug, weapons charges

Bethlehem Police have arrested two Glenmont residents on drug and weapons charges.

Officers responded to Winnie Place on Oct. 30 just before 12:30 a.m. for a report that a newspaper delivery person was confronted by a person with a gun.

The victim said that a suspect, identified as 34-year-old Benjamin M. Shore, allegedly pointed a gun at him and claimed that he had robbed his apartment.

The newspaper delivery person got away and was not hurt.

Officers searched Shore’s residence that he shares with 39-year-old Kevon Julien. They found money, a large quantity of drugs and a stolen gun, police said.

Shore and Julien are facing three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, and criminal possession of stolen property. Julien also faces a charge of criminal possession of a firearm.

Shore also faces charges of criminal possession of a firearm, reckless endangerment and is wanted as a fugitive out of the state of Virginia.

They were arraigned in Bethlehem Town Court. Julien was released under the supervision of Albany County Probation and Shore was sent to Albany County Jail. They are due back in court on Nov. 19.
