Albany Police: Man escapes custody, but caught after about an hour

Albany Police have captured a Waterford man who escaped from police custody.

Caleb Dejong, 19, was charged with third-degree grand larceny, when he escaped from his holding cell around 2:50 a.m. on Friday morning. He was found and taken into custody around 4 a.m. in the area of Delaware Avenue and Stanwix Street, Albany Police said.

An internal investigation is underway into the escape.
