Stillwater Community Center given eviction notice from the Town following lease negotiations

Stillwater Community Center receives eviction notice from the Town

The Stillwater Area Community Center Board of Directors President tells us the center and Town of Stillwater have been in negotiations over leasing the building for the past three years.

But, it culminated with a notice yesterday, being told they had to evacuate the community center within 90 days.

The Board of Directors President says although negotiations have been ongoing, the eviction notice completely blindsided them.

The center currently has preschool programs, after-care programs, and elder care programs.

The Town of Stillwater says in a Facebook post that they expect existing staff and programs will continue as before under the town’s management.
