SWITLIK SPEEDSTERS RACK UP LAPS IN SCHOOL JOG-A-THON

The Jog-A-Thon is the name of Stanley Switlik Elementary’s annual running fundraiser, but on the morning of November 5, the students at the school blasted off the starting line in a full-on sprint for the title of fastest students in the school. In front of yelling parents and staff, students put on their shoes and took to the track, tearing over the field as they competed for the highest score from lap counts Allison Sayer and Ginger.

Grade level winners were determined via a runoff for top contenders on November 15 and will be recognized on January 10 at an awards ceremony.

The fundraiser, which has been a Switlik mainstay for over 30 years, raises tens of thousands of dollars annually for field trip costs and classroom materials while encouraging physical exercise and providing young athletes with a competitive advantage with an opportunity to shine.
