The 4-month-old puppy that sustained two broken legs in Sunday’s plane crash in Greene County has undergone surgery to fix them.
The dog, named Whiskey, was injured in the collision that occurred in the town of Windham’s forested area on Sunday. Three canines from a high-kill shelter were being transported to Albany International Airport by Seuk Kim, a Springfield, Virginia native. After that, they would be brought to the Schoharie Valley Animal Shelter.
Pieper Veterinary in Middletown, Connecticut, is treating Whiskey. Jesse Ferguson, a representative for the veterinary center, said the surgeries went well.
Everyone who has encountered him has been inspired by his amazing energy and courageous little heart. His surgical team is quite hopeful, he said, even though it will take time for his legs to heal completely and his recuperation will be a lengthy road.
According to the shelter, every effort is being made to assist Whiskey.
Lisa, one of the dogs, perished in the collision. Pluto, a Yorkie terrier mix, will require treatment for pulmonary contusions and has some internal and external bleeding in addition to some bruising.
After the dogs have recovered, they will be offered for adoption.
