Investigations are underway into an explosion at a Schenectady residence.
At approximately 7 p.m. on Friday, firefighters arrived at 15 Brown St. Don Mareno, the fire chief for Schenectady, said they discovered a lot of smoke and flames on the first floor.
According to Mareno, one person was unable to leave the house. At that moment, the second-floor occupant was not at home.
The fire took around an hour to extinguish and another forty minutes to get under control.
No other injuries were reported.
