Cousins’ return to Minnesota, where he played in the NFL from 2018 to 2023, on Sunday coincides with rumors that he may not have a job in Atlanta. During the Falcons’ three-game losing streak, Cousins has thrown six interceptions without scoring any touchdowns. This includes his most picks in ten years, four, in last week’s 17–13 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.
After Wednesday’s practice, Cousins remarked, “It’s kind of the challenge always in pro football to be able to get back up off the mat and get back going.”
Despite coach Raheem Morris’ statement of confidence, there are still rumors that it’s time to give rookie first-round choice Michael Penix Jr. a shot to boost the faltering Falcons offense.
