New York City man accused of scamming $40,000 from elderly victim

Last month, a man from New York City is accused of defrauding an elderly lady in Montgomery County out of almost forty thousand dollars.

According to police, the victim received an email in November stating that they had purchased cryptocurrency.

According to authorities, the con artist repeatedly sought money from the victim after convincing them they had been the victim of fraud.

Troops said Zixiong Wang was nabbed earlier this week after showing up to a prearranged location in Amsterdam to pick up money.

Police think this scheme involved more suspects.
