More than 300,000 Ram Heavy Duty pickup trucks are being recalled by Stellantis due to a defective component that may cause specific tracking and braking systems to malfunction.
According to the Netherlands-based automaker, the vehicles’ hydraulic control unit is prone to failure, which might impair the functionality of the traction control, electronic stability control, and anti-lock brake systems. According to Stellantis, the faulty component has no effect on standard braking systems, and it is not aware of any associated injuries.
These vehicles, which comprise the Ram 2500, 3500, 4500, and 5500, are all from the 2017–18 model year. A tiny percentage of the 317,630 trucks that are part of the recall are located in Canada, Mexico, and other countries.
Stellantis stated that it will notify any impacted customers when they might expect to receive free service.
