Water woes worry Whitehall

The village of Whitehall is still under a State of Emergency.Since Sunday night, the village has been without water.

Overnight, the hamlet was able to gradually fill the drinking water treatment facility’s water tank.

Pine Lake is unable to replenish the system as quickly as regular water depletes it, according to the village website.

Over the course of the next 24 to 48 hours, residents will see water return to the system.

Except in an emergency, they are instructed not to use the water. This includes avoiding showers, washing, and other water-intensive activities.

An emergency shelter has been established by the village at the Williams Street recreation complex.

The firehouse will serve bottled water until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Later Tuesday afternoon, the village is anticipated to provide another update.
