A Troy man is charged with depositing fictitious checks at many financial institutions in the counties of Albany and Rensselaer.
Terrance M. Lee, 35, reportedly possessed these counterfeit checks and deposited them at banks in Brunswick, Watervliet, Cohoes, and Glenmont.
According to State Police, this occurred on September 14 and led to the theft of over $4,000.
Lee was accused of two counts of grand larceny, two counts of petit larceny, and four counts of possessing a fake instrument.
Following his arraignment in Brunswick Town Court, he was placed under a $100,000 partially secured bond or $50,000 cash and taken to Rensselaer County Jail.
He was escorted to Cohoes Town Court to be charged on the Albany County charges after being released on bond.
According to State Police, Lee was subsequently turned over to Troy Police for unrelated charges that were still pending.
