The arrest of the dean of Pittsfield High School is clarified by new papers.
Lavante Wiggins, 30, was charged with conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute cocaine, according to a Wednesday NewsChannel 13 story. According to investigators, he coordinated the distribution of cocaine in Pittsfield.
Also taken into custody was 42-year-old Theodore Monty Warren. He faces identical allegations and is suspected of running for Wiggins.
Although Wiggins has been under investigation since March, according to the records, there is evidence of drug use dating back to 2021.
Wiggins had a cooperative witness, according to investigators. In addition to the locations of the alleged crimes and the operation, they provided investigators with Wiggins’ phone number.
According to authorities, the witness also consented to wear a wire throughout the transaction with Wiggins. According to investigators, that wire captured Wiggins and Warren cooperating to facilitate a transaction.
Investigators claimed that the witness was later able to provide them with cocaine that he had acquired from Warren.Both Wiggins and Warren could be sentenced to up to 20 years in jail, a fine of $1 million, and life in supervised release if found guilty.
According to the district, Wiggins is currently on administrative leave.
