Vermont woman killed in Thruway hit-and-run crash

On Wednesday, a car on the Thruway in Greene County struck a woman from Vermont, killing her.

Just before 4 a.m., State Police arrived at the scene of a collision in the town of Athens, close to Exit 21. Sara Llorens, 26, of Burlington, was driving south when her car veered off the road and struck the median, according to the preliminary inquiry. According to authorities, Llorens exited the car before it caught fire.

Investigators said Llorens was struck by another car while she was on the northbound shoulder of the road.
