Man in jail charged for violating order of protection second time, this time by sending letters

Jesse J. Klingbeil, 37, of Wilton, was taken into custody by the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office on Friday for breaking an order of protection while he is in jail.

At approximately 7:51 a.m. on Friday, authorities say they were notified that an inmate at the Saratoga County Jail had allegedly broken an order of protection by mailing letters to the protected individual through the United States Postal Service.

This follows his arrest on December 9 for making six separate phone calls between November 1 and December 1 to a protected individual under an order of protection.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Klingbeil is also charged with a specific offense under the statute of having been found guilty of the specified offense within the previous five years.

According to officials, he was accused of serious family offense and first-degree criminal contempt.

Because of prior convictions, the criminal contempt charge was raised to a felony.

Klingbeil is still being held in the Saratoga County Jail on unrelated charges while awaiting more processes. He is expected to be arraigned at his subsequent appearance in Wilton Town Court.
