Stillwater man charged for not showing up to court following substances, stolen property charges

After failing to appear in court on a number of offenses, including drug and property theft, Zachary B. Barry, 35, of Stillwater, was taken into custody on a bench warrant by Halfmoon Town Court on December 12.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the warrant stemmed from an alleged incident on December 21, 2022, in which Barry was accused of possessing a stolen car that had allegedly been stolen out of Colonie.

According to officials, he is also charged with illegally possessing controlled narcotics throughout that period. They claim that following his arraignment on these counts, he was freed on his own recognizance.

When Barry was arrested on December 12, 2024, authorities say he was charged with second-degree bail jumping since he did not show up for court on the scheduled day or within 30 days of being released from the initial charges.

According to authorities, the initial accusations included three counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a narcotic substance and third-degree criminal possession of stolen property.

In order to await additional procedures, Barry was remanded to the Saratoga County Jail after being arraigned in Halfmoon Town Court.
