Authorities in Colorado Search for Fatal Shooting Suspect

Westminster, Colo. — Police in Westminster are continuing their search for a suspect involved in a deadly shooting that occurred near the Orchard Town Center on Wednesday evening.

According to investigators, the incident took place around 8:30 p.m. in the 14700 block of Orchard Parkway. Officers were dispatched to the scene after receiving reports of gunfire in the area. Upon arrival, they discovered a male victim inside the doorway of a residence, suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite emergency efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released pending family notification.

Search for the Suspect

Authorities believe the suspect fled the scene on foot immediately after the shooting. Westminster police established a perimeter around the area and called in a K9 unit to assist with the search. Despite an extensive effort, the suspect has not been located.

Investigators have described the incident as isolated and assured the public that there is no ongoing threat to community safety. “At this time, we believe this was not a random act of violence,” said a spokesperson from the Westminster Police Department.
