Thedailymiaminews:- Deputies responding to a disturbance report discovered an 11-year-old kid dead at a rural RV park in Northern California on Sunday, leading to the arrest of a woman.
Deputies were called to the Lovey’s Landing RV Park north of Meridian, an outpost on the Sacramento River four miles southwest of Colusa and 17 miles west of Yuba City, at around 10 a.m. on Sunday, according to the Sutter County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies discovered 44-year-old Meagan Ann Dixon “under the influence of narcotics, causing a disturbance” on the site. The 11-year-old youngster was later discovered “deceased in a mobile travel trailer” by deputies, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Although officers did not reveal Dixon’s relationship to the boy, Dixon was later taken into custody on charges of homicide and child endangerment.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Dixon was being held at the Sutter County Jail.
According to deputies, the boy’s death is being investigated by Sutter detectives, the state attorney general’s office, and representatives from the Sutter County district attorney’s office.
At least one dog was also discovered dead, according to radio reports that The Sacramento Bee examined; however, the Sheriff’s Office stated in a social media post that the “number of animals, type, etc. is not confirmed.”
An official from the Sheriff’s Office stated that a news conference was scheduled on Monday afternoon and that “we will provide more information as the investigation progresses.”
