Thedailymiaminews– Arizona’s BUCKEYE The Arizona Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation and Reentry terminated an 11-year Lewis facility Correctional Officer for his involvement in drug distribution within the facility.
Early in January, Berman Comon was relieved of his duties as a Correctional Officer.
Evidence, including video footage, from an inquiry that began five months ago revealed that Comon was spreading cocaine and other contraband among inmates.
According to ADCRR, Comon was arrested for his conduct, which did not include any other staff members.
The investigation was aided by the Maricopa County Drug Suppression Task Force.
“The commitment and professionalism our officers exhibit every day in ensuring the safety of the community, employees, and inmates is something that the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation, and Reentry (ADCRR) is extremely proud of. Our aim is to uphold the highest levels of integrity, and when those standards are not maintained, we respond quickly and decisively,” ADCRR stated in a statement.
Buckeye is home to the Lewis Prison.
