Driver Avoiding Deer Causes 3-car Collision on Route 490 Near Bushnell’s Basin

According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Deputies, a driver that was attempting to avoid colliding with a deer caused a collision that involved three vehicles on westbound 490 near Bushnell’s Basin.

Deputy sheriffs claim that a motorist travelling west slowed down in order to avoid colliding with a deer that was in the road. It has been reported that the car that had slowed down was rear-ended by a second car, and that second car was eventually rear-ended by a third car.

According to the deputies, a driver who was experiencing knee pain was sent to a hospital in Canandaigua. Additionally, route 490 was closed for a short period of time but has since reopened.
