3 Confirmed Dead After Motorcycle Slams Into Car During Attempted Police Stop in Redlands

Three individuals were killed in San Bernardino County, including two uninvolved fatalities, in a crash involving a motorcycle allegedly evading sheriff’s deputies, police confirmed to KTLA.

The sad incident occurred around 10:30 a.m., when deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department attempted to stop the biker for reckless driving in Redlands.

“The driver of the motorcycle did not yield and fled from the deputies,” SBSD Public Information Officer Mara Rodriguez told KTLA. “The motorcycle driver collided [with] a vehicle on Redlands Boulevard near Tennessee Street.”

All three people involved in the crash were declared dead.

In footage from the aftermath of the incident, what looks to be a black Toyota Prius is seen overturned in the roadway, with a significant number of deputies and fire department medical staff present.

Debris from the incident littered the pavement, and it appeared that goods from inside the Toyota Prius had spilled out, either as a result of the impact or during the extraction of the victims.

While the intersection was closed off while investigators worked on the site, it is unclear where the motorcycle came to a halt following the high-speed collision.

SBSD authorities declined to specify whether deputies pursued the motorcycle driver, simply that they attempted a traffic stop.

Furthermore, no information was supplied regarding the ages or genders of those killed in the horrific crash.

PIO Rodriguez stated that the California Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
